Koh Poh Koon on ensuring sufficient healthcare manpower

Ensuring an adequate healthcare workforce to meet rising healthcare demand is a foremost priority for the Ministry of Health (MOH), which adopts a multi-pronged workforce strategy to ensure sufficient healthcare manpower while maintaining care standards, said Senior Minister of State for Health Koh Poh Koon. In his reply to an MP’s questions in parliament on Tuesday (Mar 3), he said that MOH’s focus continues to be to build up the local core of Singapore’s healthcare workforce, through diversifying training pathways, increasing local intakes for healthcare programmes and ensuring that job roles are attractive and salaries are competitive.
