At least 25 killed, 80 injured after crane falls on train in northeastern Thailand

02:58 Min

At least 25 people are dead and 80 others injured, after a crane collapsed onto a moving train, causing a fiery derailment in northeastern Thailand. According to local media reports, 195 people were onboard, and the last two of three carriages suffered the most damage. Rescue teams are still working to free the remaining passengers who are trapped inside the wreckage. The derailment occurred on a section of a multibillion-dollar high-speed rail project — part of Beijing's vast Belt and Road Initiative — that will eventually connect China with much of Southeast Asia. AP Correspondent Jeremy Koh, who is covering this story for CNA, shares more details.
