Louis Chua on Digital Infrastructure Bill

MP Louis Chua welcomed the move to implement two new licensing regimes to strengthen the security and resilience of major cloud services and data centres, and the environmental sustainability of data centre operations in Singapore. He urged the government to support licensees in other critical infrastructure providers with access to the best cybersecurity tools available. He also asked if the government intends to set a target level of data centre capacity, whether it will share projections for data centre developments over the next 10 years, and how that is expected to impact electricity demand and household electricity prices. He spoke in parliament on Tuesday (Oct 6).
