Louis Ng on moving towards a low-carbon society
Singapore must take further steps to tackle climate change, sharply reduce its carbon emissions and "urgently" move towards becoming an inclusive low-carbon society, MP Louis Ng told Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 12). As one of six MPs who filed a motion on the issue, he called on the Government to commit to reaching net zero emissions by 2050, and to increase the rate and coverage of Singapore's carbon tax, which he described as “the most powerful tool we have” to motivate action.
