Low Yen Ling on support for buskers
Two new busking zones at the Singapore River and in Ang Mo Kio which were announced in March 2020 could not be implemented due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. To prepare for the resumption of busking once it is safe to do so, the National Arts Council (NAC) has been looking to expand access to more locations and is working on an online system so buskers can book locations and times fairly. Answering an MP’s question in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 8), Minister of State for Culture, Community and Youth Low Yen Ling said NAC has also been rolling out initiatives to encourage buskers to go digital with their performances.
