Macron says Europe will defend freedom with 'blood' as Coalition of the Willing meets on Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron said Europe is ready to defend freedom at the cost of "blood". He was speaking just before a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and at least 25 heads of state from the Coalition of the Willing, which seeks to fire military support for Ukraine four and a half years into a Russian invasion. Discussions will focus on seeking defence commitment, with shortages leaving Ukraine increasingly vulnerable to Russian ballistic missile attacks.
