Malaysia and Pakistan to strengthen cooperation in education, defence and tourism
Malaysia and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen cooperation in education, defence and regional security. Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim welcomed his Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya today. This is Mr Shehbaz's first visit to Malaysia. Both leaders also weighed in on US President Donald Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. Last year, bilateral trade between Malaysia and Pakistan hit almost US$1.8 billion, with growth expected to exceed 20% year-on-year in 2025. Melissa Goh reports.
