Motion: Edward Chia on reinforcing Singapore’s position as a global transport hub

17:24 Min

Singapore should strengthen regional connectivity by developing the Singapore-Johor-Batam-Bintan-Karimun corridor as an integrated economic, logistics and green energy spine. It should build the world's smartest sea and air logistics hub by applying AI to real operational bottlenecks. Singapore should also anchor a regional green fuels ecosystem that creates new opportunities for enterprises, start-ups and workers. MP Edward Chia made these suggestions in parliament on Tuesday (Jul 7), stressing that transport will remain a key pillar of Singapore's competitiveness because it is trusted, innovative, resilient and able to create good jobs for Singaporeans.
