Motion: Edward Chia on reinforcing Singapore’s position as a global transport hub

Singapore should strengthen regional connectivity by developing the Singapore-Johor-Batam-Bintan-Karimun corridor as an integrated economic, logistics and green energy spine. It should build the world's smartest sea-air logistics hub by applying AI to real operational bottlenecks. Singapore should also anchor a regional green fuels ecosystem that creates new opportunities for enterprises, start-ups and workers. MP Edward Chia made these suggestions in parliament on Tuesday (Jul 7), stressing that transport will remain a key pillar of Singapore's competitiveness because it is trusted, innovative, resilient and able to create good jobs for Singaporeans.
