Motion: Lee Hui Ying on reinforcing Singapore’s position as a global transport hub

The strength of Singapore's transport sector and its diversity of interconnectedness to the rest of the world are not only economic priorities, but also of national security, said MP Lee Hui Ying. Speaking in parliament on Tuesday (Jul 7), she stressed the need to create jobs and empower Singaporeans to excel in them as a world-class transport hub needs a world-class workforce. She wanted to know how the government is preparing the workforce for the transformation of the sector. She also highlighted the integral role of AI in creating good jobs in the transport sector, as well as the need to stay competitive and match international connectivity with the local transport infrastructure.
