Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on enforcement against repeated breaches of fire safety regulations

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) adopts an escalatory approach in enforcing against breaches of fire safety regulations by issuing abatement notices and imposing composition fines for minor cases of non-compliance. Higher fines are imposed for repeated instances and prosecution in court may follow if the errant party fails to rectify the non-compliance. Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said this in parliament on Thursday (Mar 6) in a reply to an MP’s question.
