Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on recidivism rate of drug offenders
Repeat drug abusers have a higher likelihood of re-offending and the recidivism rate is influenced by, amongst other factors, the extent of family and peer support after their release into the community, as well as their ability to remain gainfully employed, Minister of State for Home Affairs Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5) in reply to an MP’s questions. He said that the drug rehabilitation centres' regime is regularly reviewed to ensure that it remains effective in addressing drug abusers’ risks and needs.
