The National Cancer Centre Singapore is seeking to raise S$1.6 million to launch a new nationwide study to track how physical exercise can help in reducing breast cancer recurrence. The proposed five-year study aims to recruit over 2,000 people. Currently, breast cancer patients in remission face up to a 30% chance of getting the disease again. One fundraising effort includes today's Run For Hope, which is in its 32nd edition. More than 5,000 people took part in the 5km and 10km runs at Marina Barrage, which helped to raise S$411,000 for the NCCS research fund. The public can continue to support the cause until end-2025.
