New Cabinet line-up a "balance" of new generation and experienced leaders: PM Wong
Prime Minister Lawrence Wong has unveiled a new line-up of cabinet ministers and political office holders. Most of the changes take effect from next Monday. Mr Wong described the changes as “balanced”, blending a new generation of leaders with an experienced core team. Six office holders have been promoted, including Jeffrey Siow, David Neo and Sim Ann. There are also three new office holders. The previous Cabinet reshuffle took place in May last year. PM Wong says the latest Cabinet changes are part of a regular, ongoing process of leadership renewal. But earlier plans had to be adjusted, following two unexpected resignations. As for the new office holders taking on bigger roles, they have outlined their priorities, drawing on lessons from their time in public service. Sherlyn Seah reports.
