New centre for AI in public health to be launched early next year
A new centre will be launched in Singapore in the first half of next year, aiming to empower the region with AI solutions to improve healthcare. It will look at producing predictive AI models to identify chronic diseases and surveillance systems for early detection of potential outbreaks of infectious diseases and better manage pandemics. CNA's Syahida Othman gets some insights from Adjunct Professor Ngiam Kee Yuan, Head of the Academic Informatics Office at the National University Health System, and Assistant Professor Feng Mengling from the NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health.
