Ong Hua Han on building an inclusive and safe digital society
Ensuring digital safety, supporting the elderly, accommodating the deaf and including the visually impaired - they underscore the need for a whole-of nation approach, said NMP Ong Hua Han. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 10), he said that while the Government takes the lead, sets the example and facilitates this agenda, Singapore also needs corporates, programmers, designers and end-users to implement this in practice, safeguard online activity and confidently participate in the digital landscape. “I share the hope of those in the community that with a concerted effort, this digital utopia will not remain a dream but soon become reality,” he said.
