Ong Ye Kung on Singapore Medical Foundation AI Model tools for chronic conditions
The Singapore Medical Foundation AI Model (SIMFONI) develops AI tools to provide clinical decision support for managing chronic conditions. The Ministry of Health is starting with a couple of specialty areas and settings in the public healthcare sector. If successful, it will expand its coverage to more specialities and possibly to private practitioners. Health Minister Ong Ye Kung, who gave this update in reply to an MP’s questions in parliament om Wednesday (Aug 5), said SIMFONI's models are built on existing models trained using international data and adapted using local patient data. Rigorous testing of SIMFONI's models will be carried out before actual deployment, he said.
