Pakistan blames 'winds from India' for record high air pollution in Lahore
Pakistan and neighbouring India have seen deteriorating air quality due to increasing pollution. Pakistan's second-largest city Lahore saw air pollution levels hit an unprecedented high, topping a real-time list of the world's most polluted cities on Sunday. A senior minister of Punjab had partly blamed winds carrying pollution from India. Authorities in Lahore have issued work-from-home mandates and closed primary schools. Air pollution in New Delhi worsens from October, as smog from the burning of farm stubble, vehicular emissions, and firecracker smoke becomes trapped over the city. Neha Poonia reports.
