Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 2: Rachel Ong on better support for NSmen

01:44 Min

It is important to ensure that national servicemen (NSmen) and their families receive support and are recognised for their sacrifices, said MP Rachel Ong in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 3). She noted that with the changing societal landscape, it is timely to review the recognition of NSmen, not only by the Ministry of Defence but also by the whole of society, including employers. She wanted to know how the Government plans to better recognise and support not only full-time national servicemen but also NSmen in the Singapore Armed Forces and Home Team who have completed their full-time National Service. She also wanted to know how employers can be encouraged to better support NSmen.
