Rahayu Mahzam on attracting and retaining foreign nurses at restructured hospitals
The healthcare sector currently brings in foreign nurses using the Employment Pass or S Pass. The Ministry of Health has been working with the Ministry of Manpower to exercise appropriate flexibility under the Work Pass framework to meet the sector's manpower needs. It is also working closely with public healthcare institutions to shore up recruitment for both local and foreign staff to augment the healthcare workforce, as well as to ensure that salaries remain competitive. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Health Rahayu Mahzam said this in reply to an MP's question in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 30).
