Rahayu Mahzam on safeguards for young people on social media platforms

The government has been acting to protect and safeguard young children from harms online and it wants to have a more effective and durable approach that will withstand the test of time and evolution of technology. Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Rahayu Mahzam, who said this in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Wednesday (May 6), pointed out that it is not starting on a blank slate. It has safeguards in place and has been building on its outcomes-driven approach, she added.
