Razwana Begum Abdul Rahim on achievements of Team Singapore Olympians and Paralympians

Singapore’s participation in the Olympics is a testament to its ongoing commitment to foster athletic talents, promote a healthy lifestyle and showcase the nation’s progress, said NMP Razwana Begum Abdul Rahim. Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday (Oct 16), she said Singapore’s athletes have inspired new generations to embrace sports and strive for greatness. She stressed the need to ensure that sports is always fun and not a burden. The Kallang Alive Masterplan and relocation of the Singapore Sports School are consistent with this approach, she added. Turning to the welfare of athletes, she said more needs to be done to safeguard them in areas like complaints management and accreditation. Evidence-based safeguarding needs to be embedded across all sports and at all levels, she added.
