Russia and China pledge to deepen security cooperation as Lavrov visits
Moscow and Beijing have pledged deeper security cooperation across Europe and Asia, as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov prepares to wrap up two days of high-level talks in China. During discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Mr Lavrov said their deeper security cooperation is ultimately aimed at counter-acting US influence in the region. Mr Lavrov also held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, who emphasised the close relationship between the two sides and their leaders. Dasha Chernyshova reports from Moscow.
