Kenneth Tiong reprimanded by Speaker, apologises for 'stupid question' comment to Chee Hong Tat
In parliament on Wednesday (Nov 5), Speaker Seah Kian Peng told MP Kenneth Tiong he was “quite disappointed” by his use of language during his exchange with National Development Minister Chee Hong Tat earlier in the House. Noting that Mr Tiong had withdrawn his earlier comment - in which he said "stupid question" - he reminded Members of the Standing Order on the use of offensive and insulting language about MPs. He pointed out that what Mr Tiong said was “quite insulting” and “beneath the dignity” of the House. Mr Tiong apologised for the comment and to Mr Chee.
