Sense and Sustainability
Sense and Sustainability - S1E2: A Cleaner Future
Eight years ago, Kia Jiehui left her father’s engineering firm to join an NGO. She’s now back with her dad, and with a mission. To green the industry, not just for the environment, but workers too.
In recent years, Asia has been trying to clean up its reputation as the world’s most polluting region. This documentary series casts the spotlight on a new breed of eco-warriors who are driving a green revolution in the region. They are neither activists, nor scientists but heirs to prominent family empires. These successors are less concerned with their inheritance, than the world, which future generations will be inheriting.
The series profiles three young scions who are seeking to transform their family businesses into models for sustainable development. We follow them as they overcome obstacles – sometimes from within their ranks, to implement industry-wide solutions and prove that sustainability and profitability can indeed go hand-in-hand.
