Sim Ann on aligning repair works for HDB blocks and car parks

Town councils manage repair and redecoration (R&R) works for residential blocks while HDB manages such works for multi-storey car parks, and the cycles may not fully align. Where there are synergies from carrying out works concurrently, HDB encourages town councils to undertake the work for car parks on its behalf. Those which choose to do so get full reimbursement from HDB for the cost of the works in addition to a five per cent agency fee. Senior Minister of State for National Development Sim Ann said this in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 7) in reply to an MP’s questions.
