Sim Ann in debate on securing Singaporeans’ jobs and livelihoods, and foreign talent policy

Singaporeans should face up to challenges and not be swayed by seductive arguments or waiver in their commitment towards building an open economy. Most importantly, they must not allow the trust between the people and the Government to be eroded. Instead, both sides should work hand in hand to overcome challenges and emerge stronger. Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development Sim Ann, who made this call in Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 14), expressed hope that the debate in the House would have dispelled some doubts about the Government's approach in meeting the needs and interests of Singaporeans.
