Singapore announces new COVID-19 travel measures, updates on booster shots | Full press conference

Singapore on Thursday (Aug 19) announced new measures to open up its borders for incoming travellers. During a press conference held by the COVID-19 multi-ministerial task force, the country announced plans of its first vaccinated travel lanes with Germany and Brunei. Border restrictions for travellers from Hong Kong and Macao have also been eased. Alongside that, travellers who are fully vaccinated overseas will get passport stickers on their arrival in Singapore, allowing them to be eligible for vaccination-differentiated safe management measures within the country. An expert committee is also studying COVID-19 vaccine booster shots, especially for those immunocompromised. From Aug 30, some fully vaccinated COVID-19 patients in Singapore who have mild or no symptoms will be able to recover at home, as part of a pilot scheme by the Health Ministry. This is the full press conference and Q&A session with journalists.
