Singapore grants Indian industrialist Tarun Das honorary citizenship
Singapore has granted honorary citizenship to Indian industrialist Tarun Das, in recognition of his decades-long efforts in strengthening Singapore-India relations. He was the director-general of India's Confederation of Indian Industry for 40 years. President Tharman Shanmugaratnam presented the award to Mr Das, who is 85, during a ceremony in New Delhi. Mr Das received the Singapore Public Service Medal in 2004 and is the second Indian to be granted honorary citizenship by Singapore. Aslam Shah reports.
