Singapore launches community movement to raise awareness on shingles

03:32 Min

Singapore's first-ever shingles awareness movement brought together seniors, caregivers, and doctors to shed light on a disease that's often misunderstood and overlooked. The disease hits about 30,000 people in Singapore every year. Doctors warn that shingles can also trigger inflammation linked to serious complications like heart attacks or strokes. One physician says up to 30% of the population may develop shingles in their lifetime. Subsidies for shingles vaccination are now available for Singaporeans and PRs who are 60 or older.
