In a news conference on Saturday (Oct 9), the multi-ministry task force announced that unvaccinated people will be barred from dining in at hawker centres and entering large malls from Oct 13. It added that Singapore will extend its vaccinated travel lane scheme to eight more countries including the USA, the UK, Italy and Spain. The task force also laid out streamlined healthcare protocols, announcing that most people testing for COVID-19 infection will now do so with an antigen rapid test, instead of a polymerase chain reaction test.
