Singapore will not become a mouthpiece for other countries: Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing

Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing said Singapore will not become a mouthpiece for other countries, even as it seeks to play a part in promoting mutual understanding between China and the US. He said Singapore can make a valuable contribution to their relations, but it will not pass messages or balance between the two superpowers. Mr Chan was speaking on the sidelines of the Xiangshan Forum in Beijing, an annual high-level security defence summit. This is his first time attending the Xiangshan Forum in China as defence minister.
