Singapore's first repatriation flight from Oman arrives; another from Saudi Arabia planned next week

06:19 Min

As the war on Iran enters a second week, Singapore will launch a new repatriation flight from Saudi Arabia — set to take place between Tuesday and Thursday. The third such repatriation flight will depart from either Riyadh or Jeddah, depending on the situation. The Foreign Affairs Ministry will organise land transport from Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia. The first repatriation flight has landed at Changi Airport, after departing Oman just before 10.30am local time on Saturday. It was carrying Singaporeans who had travelled over land from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, over 150 Muslims who left early this morning to the holy city of Mecca for their Umrah pilgrimage have arrived safely.  Aslam Shah reports from Changi Airport.
