Snorkelling in mangroves, coral-watching among new activities at re-opened Sisters' Islands

02:27 Min

Visitors to Sisters' Islands will be able to snorkel in mangroves to watch animals like crabs and starfish, as well as observe corals grow. The refreshed marine park offers these new activities as it re-opens after three years of enhancement works. It will also be home to new research methods, some of which are planned for Singapore's second marine biodiversity survey. The first one from 2010 to 2015 yielded more than 37 species new to science, including sea anemones and shrimp. The second hopes to build on these discoveries and further expand the country's database of marine animals. Eugene Chow with more.
