A new apprenticeship programme, which gives polytechnic graduates a leg-up in securing employment through on-the-job training, has been launched. The 18-month programme offers graduates with opportunities in industries like hospitality and energy, complete with competitive salaries, staff benefits and structured support. The inaugural run of the programme will begin in July 2026, with 16 graduates and four companies. A survey by social mobility charity Access Singapore found that 16% of poly graduates took more than a year to secure a job. Almost half of respondents were also uncertain of sufficient opportunities for career advancement. Nadine Yeam reports.
