Singapore's early childhood sector can tap S$2 million fund to adopt emerging technologies
Around S$2 million will be pumped into Singapore's early childhood sector to help preschools adopt emerging technology such as AI. The Early Childhood Development Agency said digitalisation has helped operators report average savings of 66% in working hours and another 57% in costs. Under the sector's enhanced digital plan, preschools will be able to tap on a fresh slate of resources. The S$2 million fund will support customised or pilot projects meant to help operators test solutions before scaling up. Those looking to adopt existing solutions or ramp up AI use for tasks — such as reviewing CCTV footage — will be covered by co-funding of up to 50%. Chloe Teo reports.
