Beverage Container Return Scheme: All regulated containers must bear BCRS deposit mark from Oct 1

03:43 Min

Singapore's Beverage Container Return Scheme - a national effort to recycle plastic or metal drink containers - has been fully rolled out after a six-month transition period. From Oct 1, all regulated containers must bear the scheme's mark. Consumers pay a 10-cent deposit that is refunded when they return the containers for recycling. Smaller retailers can still apply for a grace period to clear non-labelled drinks until end-October. Claudia Lim reports.
