Over 1,000 new jobs will be created on Singapore's Jurong Island, across roles in sustainability, innovation and process engineering. It comes as the island focuses on growing the specialty chemicals sector, which are high-value materials — such as coatings or adhesives — used in a range of products from cars to paints. The specialty chemicals sector is one of the fastest growing sub-sectors in Singapore's manufacturing industry, with more than 30 new projects launched in the last four years.
