A new S$12 million horse riding centre in Sembawang is now home to around 150 racehorses from the soon-to-be-closed Kranji Turf Club. Operated by Gallop SG, the three-hectare site is one of Singapore’s largest equestrian facilities and has seen demand for programmes rise by 40 per cent since last year. Beyond public rides, it hosts community initiatives for low-income families, schools and seniors, even as the operator grapples with rising rental and upkeep costs. Muhammad Bahajjaj reports.
