Sun Xueling on support for survivors of family and sexual violence
The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) regularly monitors the capacity of Family Violence Specialist Centres (FVSCs) and is prepared to increase it when necessary. As recently announced, MSF will also cater for forensic-trained psychologists at each FVSC to enable them to work more effectively with survivors and perpetrators, Minister of State for Social and Family Development Sun Xueling told Parliament on Wednesday (Jan 12). Responding to MPs’ questions, she outlined the various support measures in place for victims of family and sexual violence and noted that Government efforts are complemented by those of other social service agencies. She invited more organisations that have direct contact with survivors to partner with MSF.
