Syed Harun Alhabsyi on mental health support for students

03:57 Min

The Ministry of Education (MOE) closely monitors students’ mental health and improves its measures using internal data and through research studies. For example, mental health education lessons are regularly refreshed to address emerging issues. Students are encouraged to seek help if they need it and teachers are trained to identify early signs of distress. Parents are also given support to equip them with practical skills to strengthen their relationships with their children as well as their children’s resilience. MOE works with other agencies on these issues and on implementation. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Education Syed Harun Alhabsyi said this in the House on Tuesday (Oct 14) in reply to an MP’s questions.
