Indian singer Zubeen Garg drowned near Lazarus Island after declining life jacket: Coroner's court
Popular Indian singer-songwriter Zubeen Garg was swimming without a life jacket and severely intoxicated when he drowned on Sep 19 last year. This was revealed at an inquiry to establish the cause and circumstances of his death. Mr Garg was at a yacht party at the time and was swimming in waters off Lazarus Island. Five witnesses, including the crew onboard the yacht, gave statements in person. Ten videos were also played to show the sequence of events leading up to the fatal swim. Nasyrah Rohim reports.
