A Trump-backed candidate leading Honduras presidential election says he may resume ties with Taiwan

A Trump-backed conservative candidate is leading the presidential election in Honduras, in central America. Nasry Asfura looking poised for the win with nearly half of the votes tallied so far. Whoever wins a simple majority will take office in January and serve a four-year term. Mr Asfura has pledged to refresh relations with Taiwan, potentially setting back his country's ties with China.
