US President Donald Trump has pledged a US$5,000 payout for every American adult, if his Republican party wins the upcoming November congressional election. The proposal could rake up a US$1 trillion bill for an estimated 270 million people. It's unclear how the payments will work or whether they would be legal. At the first-ever midterm convention for Republicans, Mr Trump also defended his decision to attack Iran, promising oil prices will dip as soon as the war is won.
