URA releases Jurong white site to kick-start revised plans for Singapore's second CBD

15:01 Min

The Urban Redevelopment Authority has released a new site at Jurong Lake District under the Government Land Sales programme for the first half of the year. The site is expected to yield around 1,200 private housing units and at least 40,000 square metres of office space. The authorities will take on some infrastructure works to make the project more attractive to developers. This comes after a tender for a larger master developer site was not awarded in 2024. Meanwhile, new private home sales in February fell by more than 80% on-year, with 246 units sold excluding executive condominiums. Analysts said the drop was due to the absence of new project launches and fewer buyers over the Chinese New Year holiday. Alexandra Anand and Charlotte Lim report.
