US-Iran indirect talks underway in Doha, to focus on release of funds and Hormuz
Indirect lower-level technical talks between the US and Iran are underway in Doha. Reports suggest today's negotiations will focus on the release of frozen Iranian funds, as well as the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's delegation is led by Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi. US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — who met Qatar's prime minister yesterday — will not participate in today's session. Iran's lead negotiator has emphasised direct talks will not take place until conditions of the interim memorandum signed last month are met. Jagruti Dave reports from Washington DC.
