Victor Lye on Regulation of Imports and Exports (Amendment) Bill

The Regulation of Imports and Exports (Amendment) Bill strengthens Singapore's trade certification framework and customs enforcement, safeguards the trust that underpins its open economy and modernises enforcement powers for a digital trading age, said MP Victor Lye. Speaking in parliament on Thursday (Nov 6), he highlighted four aspects of the bill - trust in Singapore's trade ecosystem, ensuring accountability and deterrence, supporting exporters and strengthening digital enforcement.
