Eric Chua on ensuring orderliness at Waterloo Mall

02:22 Min

Street vendors must have the licence to ply their trades within designated spaces after the street enhancement exercise at the pedestrianised Waterloo Mall. From time to time, there are unlicensed street hawkers, such as tissue paper vendors or people soliciting for donations in the area. Some of them are elderly, while others appear to have medical conditions or may face complex challenges, such as social isolation. Agencies work with the Ministry of Social and Family Development to help those who are vulnerable. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Law Eric Chua said this in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Tuesday (Nov 4).
