The former home of Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew at 38 Oxley Road has been gazetted as a national monument. As the government moves forward to develop it into a public space, the process must take into account national heritage needs, exercise sensitivity for the dignity of the site and involve neighbouring residents at every stage of planning, said MP Joan Pereira in parliament on Thursday (Mar 5).
