Valerie Lee on Coastal Protection and Other Amendments Bill

In light of rising sea levels and intensifying weather patterns, coastal protection will be essential national infrastructure for Singapore and implementation has to be effective, integrated and sustainable over the long term. It is important to consider how responsibilities and resources are allocated among the state, coastal industries and future generations in a way that is fair and economically sound. MP Valerie Lee said this in parliament on Friday (Mar 6). She sought clarifications on Singapore’s plans in three areas - funding, execution and coordination.
