15:34 Min

Singapore faces the challenge from AI - the “defining technology of this generation” - with strong foundations built over decades of tripartite cooperation, said Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Desmond Tan. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (May 6), he urged tripartite partners to continue working closely together to help firms transform and stay competitive, while supporting workers to maximise opportunities. Mr Tan, who is also Deputy Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress, assured workers that they will get continued support to leverage AI. His message to senior workers - their experience matters and will be an advantage in the AI era. He urged them to upskill and learn to close the access gap, narrow the skills gap and expand opportunities for all.
